We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to join our esteemed institution as a Professor in Civil Engineering. The successful candidate will possess a PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and demonstrate expertise in their specialized area of research. They will have a strong commitment to teaching, research, and academic excellence.

Responsibilities:

Teaching:

• Develop and deliver high-quality undergraduate and graduate courses in civil engineering, ensuring the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
• Use effective teaching methods, such as lectures, discussions, case studies, laboratory work, and fieldwork, to engage students and facilitate their understanding of complex concepts.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to students, fostering their intellectual growth and professional development.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects, theses, and dissertations, providing constructive feedback and guidance to students.

Research:

• Conduct innovative research in the field of civil engineering, publishing scholarly articles in reputable journals and presenting findings at conferences and seminars.
• Seek external funding through grant proposals to support research projects and collaborations.
• Collaborate with colleagues, industry professionals, and government agencies to undertake interdisciplinary research initiatives.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements, emerging trends, and best practices in civil engineering, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.

Service and Leadership:

• Participate actively in departmental and institutional activities, including committees, curriculum development, and accreditation processes.
• Provide academic and career guidance to students, serving as a resource for their professional growth and success.
• Foster collaborations with industry partners and engage in outreach activities to promote the university and department’s reputation.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of the civil engineering curriculum, ensuring its alignment with industry needs and technological advancements.
• Engage in professional organizations and societies, maintaining an active presence and contributing to the advancement of civil engineering as a discipline.

Requirements:

• PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Strong expertise and research experience in a specialized area of civil engineering.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching, evidenced by positive evaluations, teaching awards, or relevant teaching experience.
• Track record of scholarly publications in reputable journals and conference proceedings.
• Experience in securing external research funding through grants and collaborations.
• Ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate students in research projects, theses, and dissertations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, colleagues, and industry professionals.
• Commitment to academic integrity, ethical research practices, and promoting diversity and inclusion.
