Job Title: Therapist and Counsellor for Special Education

Organization: Edtech based non profit

Location: Madhya Pradesh (MP) or Maharashtra, India

Key Responsibilities:

1. Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one counseling and therapeutic support to students with diverse neurodivergent needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other developmental disabilities.
2. Assessment: Conduct assessments to understand students’ unique needs and develop tailored therapy plans.
3. Collaboration: Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
4. Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of neurodivergent students within the educational system and broader community.
5. Training: Offer guidance and training to teachers and staff on strategies to support neurodivergent students in the classroom.
6. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of student progress and provide regular updates to the team.
7. Research and Innovation: Stay current with the latest developments in special education and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Qualifications:

• A degree in Psychology, Counseling, Special Education, or a related field.
• Professional certification in counseling or therapy is highly desirable.
• Experience in working with neurodivergent students, preferably in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy, patience, and a strong commitment to the cause of special education.
• Willingness to work in either Madhya Pradesh or Maharashtra.
