About the role: Educator (for 3-10 years old) Children have the right to dream, imagine, and flourish in an environment that allows them to flow freely. Nurturing an unstructured setting with discipline, agency, and autonomy demands careful planning, curiosity, and constant reflection on the part of adults. In pursuit of this goal, we are searching for an educator who holds a strong image of a child, an image of a young human as intelligent, sensitive, resilient, and compassionate, poised to assume a variety of roles to realize their full potential.
Roles And Responsibilities
Learning Design and Facilitation:
- Hold space for daily/weekly lesson planning, facilitation, and reflection meeting with other facilitators for 3-10-year-old learners.
- To co-lead weekly peer-peer ideation and capacity-building meetings.
Research And Documentation
- Curiously follows learners conversations and interests and develops a curriculum basis the observations.
- Record observations like a researcher and enjoy finding patterns, themes, and provocations emerging in the environment.
- Document individual learners’ growth (cognitive, physical, behavioral, emotional) and group dynamics.
- Research innovative pedagogical approaches and contextualize their application with a clear learning trajectory.
Assessment
- Advise on the holistic assessment methodologies to be opted to ensure growth across cognitive, emotional, physical, and foundational learning – literacy, numeracy, and scientific temperament.
- Support adoption of self-directed learning programs, processes, and pedagogy for early learners (developmentally appropriate).
The right candidate for the role has,
- 3-5 years of experience working with learners (3-10-year age group).
- Expertise in early childhood development – cognitive, social, and emotional.
- Preference for someone who has experience in the Forest School model, Democratic schooling, Reggio Emilia approach, Waldorf Steiner, or Montessori approach.
- Strong value match in terms of respect for the local community, ecology, and innovation.
- Creativity, openness to learning, entrepreneurial approach, and ability to thrive in an unstructured environment.
- High level of English and Hindi proficiency.
