About The Role:
The role plays an important part in leading and managing overall school & staff members of the School of Design & Visual Arts under the guidance of the Senior Management and in line with University’s Ethos, Culture, Values, and Vision. The Dean shall be responsible for the administration and efficient conduct of the educational program of the school and for integrating the plans of the school with those of the university.
Job Responsibilities:
· Leading the school and ensuring the objectives of the school and University are met.
· Ensuring the school achieves excellence in academics through innovative teaching methodologies; up-gradation of existing staff, proactive changes in curriculum and assessment methodologies.
· Evaluating existing courses, and their relevance and suggesting improvements within guidelines.
· Plan and implement full-time faculty and adjunct faculty teaching assignments.
· Manage enrollment to maximize the use of faculty loads and space resources, especially general-purpose classrooms and labs.
· Develop and implement student learning outcomes and assessment activities at the program and course levels.
· Based on industry requirements conceive, design, develop, and implement new courses ensuring all regulatory requirements.
· Encourage and enhance research within the school. Encourage the team to focus on and guide research students and/or projects.
· Mentor and guide Ph.D. scholars.
· Sharing and adopting best practices from other schools.
· Evaluate assessment criteria and suggest changes as and when required.
· Regular monitoring of Regulatory guidelines/procedures defined by Authorities / Management.
· Ensure proper documentation as per regulatory guidelines in collaboration with Registrar and Academic Registrar.
· Lead regulatory audits and other investigations as and when required.
· Responsible for upholding culture through communication, a positive approach, and inculcating and maintaining strong ethical standards.
· Actively participate in the admission process from inception to execution in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders.
Job Knowledge (Prerequisite):
· Candidate should have done a good amount of Research and publications in leading journals in the field of Design (Fashion/Textile/Interiors)
· Should be well acquainted with the various Accreditation Agencies and Statutory Bodies and the procedures and updated with the latest trends in the field
· Knowledge of amendments/changes in regulatory norms.
· Broad knowledge and understanding of the design-related world and demonstrated leadership and effectiveness in envisioning and articulating the needs of a School of Design and Visual Arts or similar educational unit

Education Qualification:
· Ph.D. Degree in Design / in the relevant discipline (Fashion/Textile/Interiors)
· B. Design & M. Design with First Class or with equivalent Grade or CGPA
Experience:
· Minimum 10 years of experience in teaching, research, and industry out of which at least 3 years shall be at the level of Professor or a minimum of 13 years of experience in teaching, research, and industry. (Industry experience is preferred)
