The ASI IB MYP Program Coordinator, Apeejay International School, Panchsheel ParkJob DescriptionThe position of the ASI IBMYP Coordinator is a position of great responsibility within and outside the school.The ASI-IBPC is directly responsible for the day-to-day organization and management of the IB MYP Section at ASI as delegated by the principal. The ASI-IBMYPC is in-charge of ensuring that all aspects of educational and organizational practices are carried out according to AES and ASI’s Vision and Mission, School Policies, IBO provisions and the principal’s directives, as amended from time to time. The ASI-IBPC is responsible for providing overall leadership, direction, and support for the MYP section of the school. The ASI-IBMYPC is also responsible for actively promoting the good image and reputation of the school.The ASI-IBMYPC must have an in-depth knowledge of the relevant Program of the International Baccalaureate (IB) for the effective implementation of the IB Program. The ASI-IBMYPC is also expected to take on a reasonable teaching load in addition to his/her administrative duties.The ASI-IBMYPC must be a person who reflects in action the traits of the IB learner profile.Guiding PrinciplesSupports and advances the Mission and Values of AES and the School.Supports student learning and achievement through cooperative efforts and best practices.Supports and promotes and develops the curriculum based upon the IB goals and mission.Supports and advances quality education of international standards.Qualifications:Post Graduation or higher in a teaching subjectB.Ed./Teaching DegreeDesirable: IBEN Roles like Program Evaluation Leader, School Visit Team Member, Workshop Leader etc.Trainings/Workshops:IB MYP Coordinator Category 1/2/3IB T&L Leadership WorkshopsCurriculum Development Experience:5+ years’ experience as an IB MYP Coordinator in an International SchoolIB Authorization/Evaluation ExperienceCurriculum Development Key RelationshipsReports to PrincipalCollaborates with coordinators for developing the IB ProgramsCollaborates with coordinators for effective implementation of the AES/School and IB policies.Coordinates with the other coordinators, teachers, and school admin staff for organizing school functions.Coordinates with HO staff if and when required for implementation of the school programs.Duties and Responsibilities:AdministrationEnsure student safety and security and rigorously implement Student Safeguarding/Child Protection and other policies in this regard.Rigorously implement policies of AES, ASI, and IBO.Familiarize school community with the policies of AES, ASI, and IBO.Organizes and Coordinates events/activities of the school as assigned and required by the principal.Serves as the academic leader of the MYP program and is directly responsible for the general organization and efficient administration of the program.Assumes the responsibility for creating and maintaining a school culture indicative of a professional learning community.Remains informed and supportive of all school/AES/IBO policies and regulations.Work collaboratively with other coordinators/ administrative team and staff, keeping everyone informed of activities and special events at the MYP level.Plans the MYP Activities budget by submitting requests for instructional needs after careful analysis and collaborative discussions with teachers.Develops and conducts orientation programs to further the community’s understanding and support of the educational program. Conducts workshops, training programs for the teachers to improve teaching and learning and to keep teachers up to date with education industry best practices.Is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and developing an effective programme for students in the school.Supports curriculum review and the MYP planning processes.Is responsible for developing the MYP for effective teaching and learning.Is responsible for the rigorous implementation of IB Standards and Practices, School Code of Conduct and the Behaviour Policy.Is responsible for planning for IB Evaluation, organizing Workshops etc.Organizes all MYP assessments including E-Assessments effectively and inefficiently as per the rules and regulations of IB and the School through planning.Effective organization and implementation of any other activity as delegated by the principal regarding the school.Organizes school/Board/SAT and other exams in complete compliance with the rules in this regard.Records and reports every incident related to the students and teachers in the incident report and to the principal.
