COUNTRY MANAGER – SOUTH ASIA

We are looking for an experienced, driven and commercially minded Market Manager to deliver strong student recruitment growth for us in the Indian subcontinent region.

Aims Global is a NZ-based immigration consultancy which sources international students for New Zealand education from India and neighboring countries. We have been in the game for over 15 years and have a staff complement based in Delhi and Mumbai to service regional clientele.

What you will do:

The Market Manager can expect to undertake the following key duties:

• Develop and deliver an innovative international student recruitment and conversion strategy and associated visa services.
• Responsible for student recruitment, identifying and engaging key external and internal stakeholders.
• Full responsibility for sales performance, and for managing corresponding budget.
• Regular reporting on progress against objectives via agreed KPIs, and providing regular market intelligence and competitor analysis.
• Establishing and nurturing strong partnerships and relationships
• Ensuring development and retention (and attraction) of India based staff.
• Post student visa support – finding mechanisms and setting up processes to remain in touch with students once they arrive in NZ and feeding further sales to onshore teams.
• Ongoing relationship management and fostering a strong relationship with education providers.
• Overseeing and managing all admissions to education providers and ensuring these are done efficiently and correctly.
• Ensuring all contracts and agreements are up to date and recorded accurately.

This role will be perfect for:

• Someone with previous experience working with international institutes in NZ to recruit students from a specific market.
• Someone who has an understanding of student visa rules in NZ
• Someone who understands the peculiarities and challenges of maintaining an edge in a market as competitive as the Indian region.
• if your written and spoken English are not up to the required professional standard, as you will be communicating with NZ based personnel regularly, including Immigration New Zealand, education providers and stakeholders – English cannot be an impediment!
• if you have no international experience.

What we are looking for:

• Leadership and sales experience in international tertiary education environment for NZ (preferably) or Australia
• At least 5 years of well-developed business growth/expansion skills
• A proven track record of success with growing market base – we will ask you to demonstrate how you did this
• Experience of international sales or marketing; solid understanding of New Zealand and International Higher Education (incl. Government regulatory and compliance legislation framework) (essential)
• Be well travelled in South Asia (or India at least)
• A proven track record of working to long sales cycles
• Excellent interpersonal, networking and negotiation skills, including group presentation skills and conflict-management and most importantly an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Sales driven and marketing skills – be able to smoothly and effectively run events, seminars/ webinars/ workshops etc.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities within tight deadlines
• Be willing to travel frequently – mostly nationally but atleast once a year overseas
• Be willing to work irregular hours as required – flexibility is a must!
