Research Scientist work on process optimization, process control and process monitoring.

Responsibilities

The projects aim to create value in viscose process technology, by enhancing productivity, process efficiency, product attributes. Typically, the responsibilities encompass:

• Understanding the physical problem at plant. Collecting data from plant. Transform different forms of data into a usable format. Ensuring data and solution quality.
• Findings from engineering problems to be executed with activities (literature searches, experiments, scale-up trials, vendor/equipment evaluations, soft sensor development, reduction in process variability) under broad guidance – projects may necessitate extended stay at plant locations
• Communicating action plans and findings to project teams, consolidate into project reports, technical notes
• Developing knowledge about pulp & fiber processes, chemistries, equipment, technologies, etc for tackling real time plant issues
• Maintaining and running equipment/instruments/small pilot sections as designated owner including area ownership
• Complying with environmental health and safety norms and actively participating in lab/pilot safety programs including audits, making safe operating procedures, etc.
