Job Description

Middle School Coordinator

A Middle Management Team Member, reporting directly to the Associate Vice Principal.

To plan, execute and oversee the curricular and co-curricular processes of the middle school

To liaise with Level Coordinators of Grade 6, 7 and 8 for smooth running of daily activities.

· To prevent conflict between staff and solve small problems before they become large ones.

· To ensure that daily activities in middle school are conducted smoothly and efficiently.

· To assist the Associate Vice Principal, Deputy Principal and Principal in maintaining middle school discipline.

· To adhere to full-time attendance when the school is in operation, or beyond this, as directed by the Head of School, Principal, Deputy Principal and Associate Vice Principal.

· To attend all middle school assemblies.

· To be flexible and generous with one’s time in the undertaking of the duties.

· To take the team approach with respect to all such duties, emphasizing teamwork and mutual understanding and respect.

· To be to others an example of best practice.

· To attend all secondary school and whole school events.

Pastoral Responsibilities

· To enforce the disciplinary code of the school robustly and fairly.

· To maintain discipline within classrooms and the academic block.

· To monitor student behaviour, advise and encourage students to observe school rules and procedures.

· To enforce dress and appearance code upheld by school.

· To ensure that the academic and pastoral ethos of the school is never compromised.

· To work with the Senior Leadership Team and Guidance Counsellor to assist students and parents who are having difficulties of any sort.

· To model best practices in pastoral care of children.
