Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supervise, guide and control the work of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school.
- Responsible for all Academic and Administrative work of the educational institute. Responsible for the proper maintenance of accounts of the school, school records, service books of teachers, and such other registers, returns, and statistics as may be specified by the Society/Board.
- Incharge of admissions in the school, preparation of school timetable, allocation of duties and teaching load to the teachers, and shall provide necessary facilities to the teachers in the discharge of their duties and conducting the school examination by the instructions issued by the Government/Board from time to time.
- Plan the year’s academic work in consultation with his colleagues and hold staff meetings, review the work done during the month, and assess the progress of the pupils.
- Help and guide teachers to promote professional growth and actively encourage their participation in courses designed for in-service education.
- Supervise classroom teaching and secure co-operation and coordination amongst teachers of the same subject areas as well as inter-subject coordination.
- Arrange for special remedial teaching of the children who need it.
- Plan and specify a regular timetable for the scrutiny of pupil’s written work and home assignment and ensure that the assessment and corrections are carried out timely and effectively.
- Organize and coordinate various co-curricular activities.
- Develop and organize the library resources and reading facilities in the school and ensure that the pupils and teachers have access to them.
- Keeping track of student successes and failures and preparing appropriate interventions.
- Send regularly the progress reports of the students to their parents or guardians.
- Correspondence/Liaison with State Government/Board as required. Will ensure that all provisions of the Affiliation and Examination Byelaws and all directions given by ICSE / CBSE Board from time to time are strictly complied with.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Post-Graduate/ PHD with B.Ed / M.Ed having a minimum of 10 years of teaching experience and 2 years as Principal / Vice Principal in ICSE / CBSE school is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, administrative capability and leadership quality are essential.
- Experience of working in ICSE board will be an advantage.
- Should have a student-centered approach to teaching and learning methods.
- Desire to keep one updated with the latest happenings in the field of education.
- Proactive and ready to shoulder responsibility.
