Recruitment for the post of Junior / Senior Research fellow

DESCRIPTION:

The Speech Research Group, SSN CE, is seeking applications, for the posts of Junior / Senior

Research Fellow. They will be working on National Language Translation Mission (NLTM):

BHASHINI, funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY), Govt.

of India (A consortium project headed by IIT Madras). The objective is to develop Indian

Language technology systems & products and deploy them in the field with the help of start-ups.

Prof. P. Vijayalakshmi is leading the Speech Assistive technologies part of the project. The candidate’s day to day role will involve in developing signal processing and machine learning

algorithms to develop assessment tools, speech recognition and text-to-speech synthesis systems

for speakers with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Python and related libraries, MATLAB

DURATION: 3 years, starting from May 2022

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 5

WHO CAN APPLY?

• Applicants with B.E./B.Tech. in ECE/EEE or CSE/IT/BME
• Have prior knowledge and experience in digital signal processing and system building using

Python and related libraries.

• Applicants with M. E./M. Tech. with interest in pursuing Ph. D
• Applicants with Ph. D degree with interest in continuing their research as a post-doctoral fellow (in the area of speech technology)

OTHER PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Having in-depth knowledge in digital signal processing (preferably in Speech Processing) and

Machine learning for speech applications

• Having comfort in Linux

SALARY: Based on the academic qualification(s) and experience, starting from Rs. 25,000/- up to

Rs. 60,000 (including HRA)

The position is purely temporary and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three years. Original documents of age proof/degree/mark sheets/experience certificates must be presented at the time of interview.
