Role Description:

As a Mathematics Mentor (Remote, Part-Time), you will guide school-age learners through math concepts aligned with their grade level and coding projects. You will conduct live, online sessions, explain mathematical ideas in simple terms, and use examples and activities to build understanding and confidence. You will prepare lesson plans or adapt provided curricula, track learner progress, and provide constructive, encouraging feedback to students and families. You will manage small-group or one-on-one sessions, maintain a positive and inclusive online classroom environment, and collaborate with the academic team to refine content and teaching approaches. Flexibility to work across time zones, maintain punctuality, and reliably manage your virtual classroom tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in school-level mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and related concepts) and the ability to explain them clearly to young learners.
• Experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring children or teenagers in academic subjects, preferably math or STEM-related topics.
• Comfort with online teaching platforms, basic digital tools, and virtual classroom management in a remote environment.
• Excellent communication skills, including clear spoken English, active listening, and the ability to adapt explanations to different learning styles.
• Patience, empathy, and a learner-first mindset, with the ability to motivate and engage students in interactive, student-centric sessions.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle part-time schedules, preparation, and timely feedback.
• Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in Mathematics, Education, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience with coding or STEM enrichment programs for children is a plus, but not required.
