Duties and Responsibilities Operation of conventional lathes, mills, and drill presses
Inspects output for quality and documents or discards defects
Exhibit safe work habits adhering to all PPE and OSHA requirements for assigned area
Must report to work at scheduled time every day Be in your work area and prepared to begin work at the start of your shift Maintains a safe and clean workstation and maintains housekeeping throughout the building
Monitors production, adjusting feed and other settings as necessary
Be sure all tools and equipment are returned at the end of your shift to maintain a clean and safe working environment for all
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed
Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) Current High School Student in Machine Technology Program at Columbia Montour Vocational Technical School in process of obtaining diploma
Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, and instructions to ensure accurate production
Ability to machine product in accordance with customer or company drawings and specifications and maintain minimum production standards
Communication skills Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to perform basic math to calculate speeds and feeds Must have ability to utilize Manufacturing System to scan time card and labor tickets Ability to work with minimal supervision
Mechanically inclined and have the ability to work with your hands Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain a clean work environment Ability to work overtime as required Must have the ability perform your own machine set-ups Must have knowledge of machinist measuring tools and ability to perform quality checks Physical Demands (The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

Employee must have the ability to work with their hands to load parts and set-up machine
Employee is regularly required to stand for up to 8 hours a day
Employee is required to wear safety shoes and safety glasses at all times
Must have the ability to wear hearing protection when in production areas that require it
Employee is required to be on site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities
Requires daily face-to-face interaction with co-workers on production floor.
