Coursera was launched in 2012 by two Stanford Computer Science professors, Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller, with a mission to provide universal access to world-class learning. It is now one of the largest online learning platforms in the world, with 92 million registered learners as of Sept. 30, 2021. Job Overview:
We are seeking a data-driven, and dynamic Data Reporting Specialist. This candidate will ideally have strong reporting, communications, and process management skills and will be passionate about deploying them to support data processes within the team. In this role, you will work closely with other key members of the Content Strategy team.
This candidate will work with data using multiple tools (e.g. Looker, SQL, spreadsheets) to assist and support data and reporting needs of the team. They will support the team members in their on- and off-platform (Coursera=platform) data needs, catalog research and reporting needs, which will enable the team to generate both internal and external-/university-/industry-partner facing outputs. Thus, this candidate will play an integral role in enabling creation of key Content Strategy outputs, by using the data to develop reports to answer questions related to educational needs of learners across the world. They will also be able to manage data processes for the team.

Responsibilities:
Assist team members to mine data and extract impactful insights that influence the strategy for content in their verticals
Be able to use SQL to extract data from the internal data warehouse, based on the data asks
Use a combination of Looker, spreadsheets/Excel, and other on- and off-platform tools to create reports, dashboards, and visualize data
Assist with automating data-related processes for the team
Do occasional market research to supplement quantitative analysis
Basic Qualifications:
BA/BS degree, 3+ years of experience using Looker and Excel/spreadsheets
Demonstrated history in data analysis and research
Demonstrated history of SQL, relational databases, data warehousing systems, data lakes
Demonstrated history in communicating data based insights to key stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of SQL
Experience in process automation
Experience with Python and/or R
