Job Summary:
The Assistant Professor / Associate Professor – Fine Arts will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, fostering creativity and artistic expression among students, and contributing to the academic and cultural development of the department. The candidate will engage students through practical and theoretical instruction while supporting interdisciplinary learning and artistic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging Fine Arts lectures, studio sessions, and practical classes aligned with the university curriculum.
* Encourage creativity, innovation, and self-expression through various art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, graphics, and visual arts.
* Develop lesson plans, course materials, assignments, and assessments in accordance with academic standards.
* Assess and evaluate students’ academic and practical performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
* Mentor and guide students in artistic projects, portfolios, exhibitions, and competitions.
* Organize and participate in exhibitions, workshops, seminars, competitions, and other art-related events.
* Maintain discipline and create a positive, inclusive, and collaborative learning environment.
* Collaborate with faculty members from other departments to promote interdisciplinary learning and creative initiatives.
* Contribute to curriculum development, academic planning, and departmental activities.
* Participate in university committees, cultural events, accreditation processes, and other institutional responsibilities.
* Stay updated with emerging trends, techniques, and technologies in Fine Arts and Visual Arts education.
Eligibility Criteria:
* Master’s Degree in Fine Arts (MFA) with specialization in Painting, Sculpture, Graphics, Visual Arts, or a related discipline.
* Ph.D. in Fine Arts or a relevant field will be preferred for Associate Professor positions.
* Minimum 2+ years of teaching experience in a university or higher education institution.
* Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom/studio management skills.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
* Demonstrated artistic achievements, exhibitions, publications, or professional practice will be an added advantage.
* Ability to mentor students and contribute to academic and creative excellence.
