The Director of the ASB provides strategic leadership for the institute’s academic activities, research, resources, and outreach initiatives. Job Description

The Director will serve as a highly visible representative of the ASB, circulating widely to develop strong and mutually beneficial relationships both on and off-campus. Internally, the Director will be an active and engaged colleague — an advocate for the ASB who works to engender trust and credibility and who identifies and supports ways to contribute to the institute. Externally, the Director will build on well-established relationships and establish new ones with leaders in business, government, and non-profit organizations in Telangana, Pan-India and Worldwide, as well as with potential students, employers, the advisory board, and alumni, to generate a network of partners who will serve as ASB champions.

The Director must be committed to the principles of shared governance. Candidates should have experience with and a commitment to NBA/NAAC/AACSB accreditation; the ability to inspire and connect to diverse stakeholders with a shared vision for the ASB; familiarity with complex budgets and fiscal management procedures; possess a strong record of support for recruitment and retention of faculty and students; be committed to diversity; demonstrate an ability to promote externally funded research; and be dedicated to outcomes assessment, student achievement, and professional development for faculty and staff.

Job Responsibilities

1. Manages the overall operations of the Ashoka School of Business, in accordance with the institute’s’ mission, core values, policies, and procedures.

2. Plays an important role in the strategic planning processes of ASB.

3. Oversees recruitment, supervision, professional development and retention of a strong and diverse faculty and staff. Ensures that faculty qualifications meet professional accreditation standards.

4. Takes part in overall campus activities as appropriate and/or as directed by ASB management.

5. Assures that the Office of the Director is administered in such a way as to foster responsiveness to students, faculty, management, and other administrative activities.

6. Supports the growing demand for online learning, while recruiting and retaining face-to-face students.

7. Promotes and supports global engagement (e.g., study abroad opportunities, global immersion program and the recruitment of international students).

8. Promotes a culture predicated on leadership development, student-success, data-driven decision making, programmatic excellence, and customer service;

9. Teaches a minimum one subject per trimester;

10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Eligibility

1. Minimum of 10 years experience in Teaching and Research / (13 years in Industry) out of which at least 3 years shall be at the level of Professor. or

2. Minimum of 13 years experience in teaching and/ or Research and/or Industry In case of research experience, good academic record and books / research paper publications / IPR / patents record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection committee.

3. Candidates from industry shall be at managerial level equivalent to Professor level with active participation record in devising / designing, developing, planning, executing, analyzing, quality control, innovating, training, technical books / research paper publications / IPR / patents, etc. as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection committee. Flair for Management and Leadership is essential.

4. First Class or equivalent in Masters Degree in Business Administration or equivalent. and Post PhD publications and guiding PhD students is highly desirable. At least ten peer reviewed journal publications in Web of Science or Scopus indexed journals. Acceptance of publication by the journal will be considered if actual publication has not already occurred or DOI or has not yet been obtained. ABDC ranks, SCOPUS indexes, shall be preferred;
