About Aseema: Aseema is a Mumbai-based NGO that is committed to equipping children from marginalised communities with high quality, value-based education, enabling the development of their limitless potential. We run three municipal schools in Mumbai in partnership with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), and one school for tribal children in Igatpuri. Aseema reaches out to 4,400 children living in vulnerable circumstances in urban slums and tribal communities.
Key responsibilities:
Work under the guidance and supervision of the Education Director to:
Develop manuals that will contain detailed lesson plans/ assessments/ resources for innovative and child centric methods of teaching Marathi
Train teachers for the respective classes on implementation of the lesson plans
Observe classes and give feedback to the teachers
Going forward help in training external clients on the curriculum implementation (may involve travel)
Qualification:
B.Ed or Masters in Marathi
Minimum 5 years of experience in school teaching (in a progressive school environment) and/ or curriculum development and training
Prefer experience of working with children from non-English speaking, multilingual, poor backgrounds
Proficient in IT skills required for manual creation
Essential:
Self-driven, outcomes-oriented and able to work independently;
Team player, flexible and positive attitude
Should possess leadership qualities, experience of managing people
Excellent speaking, writing skills
A clear thinker with a deep interest in education;
Committed and hardworking, experience of working on deadlines
Sensitivity/ empathy towards teachers and students at Aseema
Excellent interpersonal skills
