Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Sr Engineer specializing in Node.js. The Sr Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable server-side applications using Node.js. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, writing clean and efficient code, optimizing APIs for performance, diagnosing issues, and implementing secure coding practices. The role also involves mentoring junior developers and contributing to continuous improvement in development methodologies.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript, with experience in frameworks like Express.js or Nest.js.
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and API design best practices.
• Proficiency in working with databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, or MySQL, including schema design and optimization.
• Understanding of containerization and deployment using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
• Experience in debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing application performance for scalability and reliability.
• Familiarity with security best practices and implementing authentication/authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
• Strong problem-solving skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work with a distributed team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue.js) is a plus.
• Prior experience in EdTech or a strong interest in education and technology innovation is advantageous.
