Job Title- IB Primary Year Program Teacher

Reports to PYP Coordinator
TEACHING, CLASSROOM & SUBJECTIVE PEDAGOGY:
- Design, prepare and deliver high quality lessons to suit the individual needs of all students in line with the IB PYP Curriculum
- Inspire mixed culture and ability classes, by creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students
- Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results for instructional activities
- Assess and monitor student progress and provide targets so that all learners can see success and improve
- Collaborate with other teachers to share new ideas, approaches and professional knowledge
- Plan Units of Inquiry and lessons by following PYP curriculum framework collaboratively with the PYP Coordinator, Specialist teachers, and Head of the School
- Create inquiry-based classrooms that develop critical thinking skills, knowledge and a range of skills within an environment based on trust and respect
- Write and implement learning objectives that are challenging and measurable
- Liaise with the Head of School and the PYP Coordinator to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroom
- Select relevant resources and digital tools to support and enhance learning
- Ensure a physically and emotionally safe environment for students through positive framing, kind communication with students and parents and staff members
- Use classroom and behavioral management strategies that are positive, structured, consistent, respectful, and responsive to student needs, to build a safe, orderly, inclusive and positive classroom community
- Utilize an effective approach to behavior management, time management, classroom organization and appearance, planning, teaching, and monitoring learning
- Encourage students to interact and work cooperatively with others and engage all students in activities
- Develop appropriate assessment tasks, providing timely and effective feedback that enhances pupils learning
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
- Be a positive role model for students, support mission and vision of the school
COMMUNICATION:
- Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues in a professional manner
- Ensure and oversee clear communication with internal & external stakeholders regarding student learning within the Primary Years
- To ensure the information about student is communicated clearly with the parent, the PYP coordinator and Head of the school
- To keep the Head of the school, the PYP coordinator regularly informed about students, activities and other happening in the classroom
- To foster and maintain good working relationships, acting as a polite, friendly and business-like member of the school team
OTHER ROLES & RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Write and submit formal reports on a timely basis
- Attend Parents Meetings, Various Internal & External Trainings set by the school
- Upgrade oneself with various PYP trainings, academic or non-academic trainings on a regular basis; This will help you to grow more professionally and personally
- Contribute to the extra-curricular activities program and participate in school activities such as assemblies, evening events, special days, celebrations, conferences; Take an active role in the wider community, school trips, and extension activities as necessary
- Responsible for communicating effectively with external stakeholders as parents on the individual progress of students through all means. This includes being responsible for: report cards, messages, parent meetings upon schools or parents request
- Take on active supervision during scheduled duties
- Maintain confidentiality of privileged information about students, faculty members, and administration
- Respect all deadlines set out by the PYP Coordinator and the Head of School, and keep proper documentation (physically & digitally)
- Maintain professional relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Work in a manner which is safe and healthy for both oneself and others with whom they come into contact
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible
- Undertake such additional duties as might be reasonably requested by the other Heads, Head of School or other authorized person.
Education Qualifications –
- Graduate or Postgraduate
- Must have Degree in Education (B.Ed., D.El.Ed., D.Ed.) Any one
- Diploma or other programs with international curriculum is an added bonus

Experience –
- 3 to 5 years of working experience as a teacher in Primary Year group
- Proven experience in delivering differentiated learning
- Good in activities based learning which help students to grow more
- Expertise in physical development in early childhood education.
