The role of an early childhood educator is to support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support learner’s wellbeing, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or on their own within a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and use instructional materials suitable for 2 to 6-year-old learners with varying degrees of mental, physical, and emotional maturity.

• Provide learning experiences in language arts, pre- math, physical and spiritual wellness, art, role-play, dance, music, health, and other areas as suited to the needs of learners.

• Develop in each student an awareness of himself/herself as an individual and his/her role in the family and community.

• Provide individual and small group instruction designed to meet individual needs of the learners.

• Plan, develop and organize activities for parents to promote parent participation and involvement in educational activities provided for their children.

• Developing positive and respectful relationships with learners and supporting the holistic development of children in early childhood
