*LIVELIHOODS DEPARTMENT
The Livelihoods Programs aim to provide rural, non-formally educated women from last mile communities with training, equipment and strong follow-up support on sustainable income generating activities. It encompasses activities such as beekeeping, coffee farming and food supplement making, in India and internationally.

*ROLE SUMMARY
Overview, manage and develop Livelihoods Programs in India, in line with organization vision and values. The Livelihoods Programs Manager is in charge of coordinating different projects, teams and partners, and overall projects management including programmatic expansion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define the strategy to reach the objectives of the program nationally in collaboration with the Livelihoods Global Head and team
  • Overview, monitor and support the implementation of the livelihoods program in India
  • Manage the team, including India Programs Leads and field officers
  • Administer all human resource, accounting, budgeting, reporting program requirements
  • Develop and overview the implementation and operational and program logistics in collaboration with the team
  • Build team capacity
  • Develop strategic partnerships with local NGOs and CBOs
  • Coordinate field implementation of activities with other NGOs/CBOs
  • Communicate to potential partners on the program approach, methodology and strategy
  • Create and manage documentation for corresponding stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the M&E team on developing the framework and tools
  • Participate in the design of digital teaching aids and material with audio-visual content.
  • Research and learn to continually improve and expand the program’s role in supporting women as change agents
  • Liaison with all stakeholders including donors, government, partners, and other sections within Barefoot College as per required
  • Participate in fundraising and grant writing efforts, with a focus on local foundations and CSR opportunities
  • Activity documentation and impact Reporting.
  • Expand existing programs, develop new opportunities and contribute to the overall organization vision and missions.

Spirit of team and family should prevail and it is expected that all staff take up to 10% of their time contributing to the larger goals and work of the overall Barefoot College collective in addition to their specific area of responsibility.

  • Set up processes for management of team and activities, reporting, etc.
  • Participation in continual creation and improvement of Livelihoods programs models and curriculum
  • Effective delivery of Grants’ commitments
  • Submission of Grant proposals and other funding requests
  • Regular activity reports and documentation

  • Ability to manage complex programs at various levels (HR, Accounting, Budgeting, members, partners and donors) in challenging, ever evolving environment
  • Ability to lead a team and take decisions on the strategy to deliver on various program objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluent spoken and written Hindi and English.
  • Soft skills: able to interact with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organized, structured and proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to manage a team, and work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized while coordinating multiple projects
  • Creativity and ‘Can Do’ attitude to work in challenging situations
  • Computer skills: Proficient in Gmail and G-Suite Services like Google Sheets, Docs and Slides.

LOCATION

India – offices based in Tilonia, Rajasthan (short term) / SUTRA, Jagjit Nagar, Himachal Pradesh involving regular stay with potential travels in rural areas of different states. Work from home may be possible for up to 40% of time.
