EY Lead Advisory – Strategy and Transactions (SaT) – Associate Manager
As part of our EY Lead Advisory team, you will provide tactical and strategic advice to clients and help them grow inorganically or realize synergies through acquisitions, enter new geographical markets, sell or separate existing business, raise new capital (debt and equity) or restructure existing capital. The assistance ranges from pre-deal to closing a deal, including originating or identifying buy side or sell side M&A opportunities, preparing client discussion materials, identifying acquisition targets or strategic / financial buyers, transaction valuation, developing marketing collaterals, business plans, amongst others. The client base spans across industries and includes mid-sized corporates, multinational investors, Private Equity firms and family offices.

We’re looking for Managers with expertise in Investment Banking to join our EY Lead Advisory Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading firm whilst being instrumental in the growth of a dynamic team.
Your key responsibilities
As a member of the sector practice at GDS Lead Advisory, the person would be providing
Transaction Advisory services to Global SaT leaders
Responsible for leading client interactions, delivery, and relationship building with SaT Global Sector leaders
Work across the entire M&A deal lifecycle from deal origination to closure, including transaction
screening, proposals, pitch books, industry research, precedent transactions and comparative
valuation analysis, opportunity papers, Information Memorandums, Financial model etc.
Manage a team of 8-10 people. Act as a counsellor for team members. Identify L&D requirements of counselees
Measure, monitor and improve client service by closely collaborating with the client and guiding
team members and driving excellence in service delivery
Focus teams on the key priorities while working on and managing several medium-size projects
Ensure smooth service delivery within the defined geographical area
Ensure that team members deliver quality service as per client’s needs and priorities
Partner with internal and external clients to improve processes
Work with project leaders to analyse resource needs and gaps across locations, and devise
alternative ways forward
Assign people to projects based on their skills, career goals and client’s expectations
Provide team members with accurate and useful guidance in technical areas of high risk and
complexity
Participate in goal setting, performance appraisal and management of counselees
Travel on assignments abroad, as required
Skills and attributes for success
Strong exposure working in a Transaction (M&A) Advisory or Corporate Finance environment
Strong research experience in a M&A or Equity research environment
Expertise in preparing Pitch books, Industry research, Company research, Opportunity Papers,
Information Memorandums and financial models
Have good knowledge of valuations principles and financial statements analysis
Strong financial research and analytical skills
Good communication skills – both written and verbal
Have good knowledge of research databases like Capital IQ, Factset, One Source, Factiva, Reuters,etc.
Be proficient to search/source right information from relevant sources
Manage own time to budgets and communicate progress against plan
Actively promote the sharing of knowledge within the group
Be organized and structured in the completion of tasks
Contribute pro-actively to building team spirit
To qualify for the role, you must have
MBA/PG Diploma (Fin) or Post Graduate Diploma in Finance or CFA – Level 3 passed or CA with 6 to 8 yrs. relevant experience
Ideally, you’ll also have
Exposure to tools like VBA, PowerBI, Thinkcell, Crimson Hexagon etc. will be an added advantage
