Project Assistant Position at Ashoka University

Position: A Project Assistant position funded by Ramalingaswami Fellowship is open

in Asst. Prof. Basudeb Maji’s lab in the Trivedi School of Biosciences, Ashoka

University (https://www.bmajinative.com). The lab works on organic synthesis,

medicinal chemistry, chemical biology and synthetic biology. The successful candidate

will contribute in projects with experiments related to small molecule synthesis and

characterization, biophysical, and biochemical studies. The person will also assist in

daily operations of the laboratory including maintaining inventories and ordering

supplies related to the project. Training and mentorship specific to the project will be

provided.

Requirements:

• Post-graduate degree in Chemistry and master’s project in Organic Chemistry.

• In-depth knowledge and laboratory expertise in organic synthesis, NMR, Mass, and

other spectroscopic methods. Prior experience in peptide chemistry is an advantage,

but not mandatory.

• Must have an enthusiasm for research, passion to learn and be able to maintain

meticulous records of experimental procedures.

Duration: Initial appointment will be for 6 months, which is extendable up to 1 year

upon satisfactory performance.

Salary: A consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 35,000.00 will be provided.
