About the role

The incumbent will be responsible for leading procurement in the central buying team in the business of Godrej Agrovet Limited.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for leading procurement of High Value/Volume RM category which is used across 25+ manufacturing locations of Animal feed business

Act as Subject Matter Expert to understand materials, price seasonality, Formulate and drive sourcing strategies in various Demand and Supply scenarios

Drive Strategic initiatives in the category to bring down overall Total Cost of Ownership

Plan and conduct detailed on-field crop surveys and farmer interactions by travelling to source/producing markets

Ensuring business continuity by meeting On-time Delivery targets and mitigate commodity supply chain risks throughout Crop Calendar

Research and Analyze domestic and international markets for identifying sourcing opportunities and cost effective buying decisions

Continuously scan markets for identification and introduction of new Raw materials

Would be supported by a diverse and experienced team of Buyers to achieve functional success

Collaborate and partner with all Cross Functional and external Stakeholders to lead, influence and facilitate effective execution of sourcing strategies

Engage on regular basis with Regional operations teams for smooth operations in an integrated manner

Leverage GODREJ strengths in identifying and expanding a competitive vendor base

Conduct Supplier performance reviews based on business critical metrics and scorecards

Make best use of various technology platforms for buying efficiency e.g. SAP, Reverse Auction platform and Mobile apps

Design Procurement metrics and dashboards for analytics based monitoring and optimization plans

Must respect Organizational value systems and ensure compliances without requiring formal supervision to meet all control and reporting objectives

Strong emphasis on SOP and Methods adherence.

Willing to travel extensively across the country

Who are we looking for?

Education:

MBA

Experience:

At least 12+ years of experience with exposure into strategic purchase & sourcing of agri commodities.

Skills:

Management graduate from premier institute with prior relevant experience of min 10 in similar industries

Expertise in spend analytics, market intelligence, strategic sourcing and supplier performance management

Extensive experience in Sourcing/Trading/Supply chain management of Agri Commodities in domestic as well as International markets

Knowledge of business applications like SAP MM, E-Auction platforms, Mobile Apps etc would be desirable
