Key Accountability :
- Building a vision of excellence and national leadership in each unit of the school of Liberal Arts and monitoring progress toward short, medium, and long-term goals
- Work with the Vice Chancellor / EP to strategize and achieve the long-term vision and goals of the school of Liberal Arts and Implement the Strategic Plan for the School of Liberal Arts in accordance with the Strategic Plan of the University
- Identify the Uncertainty prevailing in the market related to the programs of the school of Liberal Arts and recommend investment decisions for each program (existing / new).
- Recommend the value proposition of each program based on competition mapping.
- Vision and mission promotion: You will need to promote the vision and mission of the university to all stakeholders within and outside the school of Liberal Arts Academic & Operational
- Top line growth: You will be responsible for driving the growth of the school of Liberal Arts and ensuring that it is financially successful.
- Reputation building: You will need to work on building and promoting the reputation of the school of Liberal Arts, both internally and externally.
- Stakeholder aspirations: You will need to consider the needs and goals of all stakeholders in the school of Liberal Arts, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
- Faculty and student satisfaction: You will need to work to improve the satisfaction of faculty and students with their experience at the school of Liberal Arts.
- Program management: You will spend a significant amount of your time managing programs and ensuring that they are running smoothly and effectively. Spend 60% of time in running academic operations
- External engagement: You will need to engage with external organizations, such as corporate partners, academic institutions, and trade bodies, to build relationships and further the goals of the school of Liberal Arts. Spend 40% of time in managing external engagement.
- Accreditations: You will work with the Vice-Chancellor to ensure that the school of Liberal Arts meets the requirements for national and international accreditations in a timely manner.
- Network building: You will need to establish a network of Small and Medium Enterprises and social and developmental agencies to support the school of Liberal Arts’s goals and objectives.
- Knowledge creation and dissemination: You will lead efforts to create new knowledge through academic and applied research, and you will also work to disseminate this knowledge through events and activities for the benefit of scholars, students, and faculty.
- University ecosystem & Collaboration: You will need to work with other departments within the university, such as placement, finance, and human resources, International Relations and IQAC to ensure that the School of Liberal Arts is functioning effectively within the larger university ecosystem.
- Responsible for integrating state-of-the-art technology/automation processes in the academic area to build a superior experience for the students and faculty members
- Responsible for the preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report of programs within the school of Liberal Arts and conducting meetings of Boards of Studies to provide appropriate assessment and input
- Ensure that students are provided with appropriate information on admissions, relevant academic policies, guidelines, and events by the faculty.
- Responsible for formulating the annual budget for the academic unit in line with the strategic plan of the University (In collaboration with the CAFO)
- Responsible for ensuring that the unit/ department’s expenses follow the budget and do not exceed allocations
- You will build the team for the school of Liberal Arts in consultation with HR and obtain insights from faculty leaving the University to understand the reasons for attrition and take corrective measures
- You will work to create a culture of congeniality, peace, and universal brotherhood within the school of Liberal Arts.
Requirements
- Minimum experience of 10-15 years in relevant field
- Ph.D. from top institute
- The candidate ought to have Professor cadre qualification and experience including Minimum 3 years of Academic Administrative experience
- A successful track record of increasing leadership and responsibility at a reputed University/ Institute (Reputed university -top 50-NIRF ranked institutions /high QS ranked global University)
- Demonstrated academic and research excellence at a national/ international level through Research/ Publication/Innovation/ patent(awarded)
- Demonstrated financial acumen and capability to run independent P&L. Personal attributes and style
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, collaboratively with administrators, teachers, parents, and students
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- A critical thinker and problem-solver with strategic acumen
