About the role

Why is the role important?

The After School Centre Director will be responsible for the overall management and administration of the afterschool program, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, engaging educational experiences for children. Think like a principal figurehead who helps in maintaining the quality and culture of the learning hub. They will be the conduit between the program team and the learning hub: managing teachers & support team, ensuring learning outcomes are met, maintaining a safe and inclusive environment, and building strong relationships with parents in the neighbourhood community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the afterschool program, ensuring a safe, stimulating, and welcoming environment for all children.
  • Student Progress: Track learning outcomes meticulously, orchestrating interventions with teachers or parents for those needing tailored support.
  • Teacher Management: Lead and manage a diverse team of educators from varied backgrounds, providing ongoing professional development and performance evaluations.
  • Curriculum Oversight & Classroom audits: Implement and oversee the curriculum, ensuring it aligns with Openhouse’s philosophy and standards.
  • Parent Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents, addressing their concerns and educating them on the importance of afterschool programs in their child’s holistic development.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • P&L Owner: Ensure a tight check on the revenue and cost line items to ensure that the centre can function profitably as a business unit.
  • Quality Improvement: Collaborate with the headquarters team to continuously improve program quality and implement best practices.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in an educational/ child care/ customer facing setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
