Job Description

Role & responsibilities :

1) Individual and Group Counselling: Provide one-on-one and group career counselling sessions to students, helping them understand their career options and make informed decisions.

2) Career Assessments: Administer and interpret career assessments to assist students in identifying their skills, interests, and career goals.

3) Job Search Strategies: Guide students on effective job search strategies, including resume writing, cover letter preparation, and interview techniques.

4) Workshops and Seminars: Develop and conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions on various career-related topics, such as networking, job market trends, and career planning.

5) Employer Relations: Build and maintain relationships with employers, recruiters, and industry professionals to facilitate internships, job placements, and networking opportunities for students.

6) Resource Development: Create and maintain career resources, including job boards, career guides, and online tools, to support students in their career development.

7) Career Events: Organize and coordinate career fairs, employer panels, and networking events to connect students with potential employers and industry experts.

8) Counselling Records: Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions and student progress.

Collaboration: Work closely with faculty, alumni, and other stakeholders to enhance career services and ensure alignment with students academic and career goals.

Preferred candidate profile

1) Education: Bachelors degree in Psychology, Education, Human Resources, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification in career counselling is a plus.

2) Experience: 1-3 years of experience in career counselling, career services, or a related field, preferably in a higher education setting.

3) Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students. Proficiency in career assessment tools, resume writing, and interview coaching.

4) Knowledge: Understanding of current job market trends, employment practices, and career development theories.

5) Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in using career management software, MS Office Suite, and online career resources.

Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
