We are hiring for a Librarian with our esteemed University based in Mumbai
The University Librarian will oversee the operation and management of the university library. This role involves coordinating library services, managing staff, and ensuring the availability and accessibility of library resources to students, faculty, and researchers. The librarian will also be responsible for developing and implementing library policies, budgets, and strategic plans to support the academic goals of the university.
Role & responsibilities
Library Management:

- Oversee daily operations of the library, including circulation, reference, and technical services.
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collection Development:
- Select and acquire books, journals, electronic resources, and other materials.
- Evaluate and manage the librarys collection to ensure it meets the needs of the university community.
- Coordinate with faculty to support curriculum and research needs.
- User Services:
- Provide reference and information services to students, faculty, and staff.
- Develop and conduct library instruction sessions and workshops.
- Assist users in locating and utilizing library resources.
- Staff Management:
- Hire, train, and supervise library staff and volunteers.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Technology Integration:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of library technology and systems.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in librarianship.
- Enhance digital and online library services.
- Budget and Planning:
- Prepare and manage the library budget.
- Seek external funding through grants and partnerships.
- Develop long-term strategic plans for the librarys growth and development.
- Collaboration:
- Promote library services and resources to the university community.
- Collaborate with academic departments and external organizations.
- Represent the library in university committees and professional associations. Research
- Research Support:
- Assist faculty and students with research projects and information literacy.
- Provide support for data management and scholarly communication.
- Maintain awareness of trends in academic publishing and open access.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of professional library experience, preferably in an academic setting.
- Demonstrated experience in library management and staff supervision.
Qualification
- Masters degree in Library Science (MLS) or Library and Information Science (MLIS)
