Job Description
Role & responsibilities
- Design and implement art lessons aligned with the IB curriculum.
- Integrate diverse art forms and techniques to enhance students’ artistic experiences.
- Collaborate in planning, teaching, assessing, and reflecting on units of inquiry, utilizing transdisciplinary themes, central ideas, and lines of inquiry.
- Develop each student’s interest and ability in visual creative expression, adhering to school guidelines for artistic techniques and skills.
- Use a variety of activities, assessments, and artistic experiences to cultivate students’ aesthetic understanding and appreciation.
- Introduce students to art from multiple cultures, genres, periods, and languages.
- Instruct students on the versatility of acrylic paints, including techniques such as dry brushing, staining, layering, underpainting, and mono-printing.
- Regularly assess students’ understanding throughout the creative process and in their final products.
- Collaborate with grade-level teachers to promote cross-disciplinary integration.
- Instruct students in the proper care and use of tools and equipment.
- Organize and manage the storage and distribution of materials.
- Evaluate and report on each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understanding.
- Plan and present art displays and exhibitions to showcase students’ work for the school and community.
- Manage decorations and arrangements for cultural events, both on-stage and off-stage.
- Communicate with parents and school counselors about students’ progress and development.

- Implement effective strategies for managing student behavior and engagement.
2. Lesson Planning:

- Develop and execute art lessons that align with the IB curriculum and foster creativity.
- Incorporate a range of art forms and techniques to enrich students’ artistic experiences.
3. Extra-Curricular Activities:

- Plan and lead art-related activities, including exhibitions and competitions.
- Encourage student participation in national and international art events.
4. Student Evaluation:
-
- Assess and track student progress through various evaluation methods.
- Provide constructive feedback to support artistic and academic growth.
Preferred candidate profile
- Familiar with the Art’s scope and sequence and understand their role in the student’s artistic development.
- Excellent drawing skills, especially in observation drawings (still life, portraits, and landscape)
- Good technical skills in painting, sculpture, computer graphics, and/or design.
- Ability to work with unconventional materials and good knowledge of elements and principles of art
- Experience in teaching with the International Baccalaureate Program preferred
- Valid Certification(s)/ Teaching License in Art -Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
- Masters or equivalent (mandatory)
- IT and Technical skills at a level that permits the creative and effective use of technology in the classroom
