About
The SSC – CEO is a full-time employee of Nasscom and will report to the President of Nasscom. The CEO is responsible for conceptualizing and developing the overall talent charter of the Tech industry so that Nasscom can collaborate with the Government and Tech industry to skill the workforce. The CEO works closely with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), and other Government bodies along with the Technology industry to develop the IT/ITeS SSC strategy and overall execution with a focus on achieving the annual outcomes, while building a future-ready organization.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Thought Leadership
- Showcase the industry narrative on talent initiative to help address the demand supply gap in emerging technologies and shifts needed in the skilling ecosystem
- Engage with academia and government policies to enable India to emerge as the digital talent hub
- Responsible for strategic planning and successful implementation of the Talent Charter for the IT / ITeS industry – bring in deep expertise and experience into play; help benchmark with appropriate standards
- Enhance the SSC Nasscom’s image as an active and strong platform for upskilling amongst the community, industry and Government
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders (governing council of the SSC Nasscom) to strategize and execute the objectives and mandates of the initiatives/projects
- Have good understanding of systems and best practices of upskilling / reskilling in different parts of the world
- Represent IT / ITeS industry in the appropriate forums in India and globally to position India’s Tech talent capabilities
Financial performance and governance:
- Thorough understanding of finance and compliance to ensure overall health of the function
- Prepare and present budget and financial statements to the internal stakeholders which accurately reflect the financial condition of the function
- Develop quality assurance process and governance structures and policy documents to be instituted into the skill –education ecosystem
Organization and people management:
- Hire and manage a culturally diverse workforce, vendors, clients, and community whose skills, cultures, and languages reflect the communities SSC Nasscom serves
- Translate the objectives of SSC nasscom into clear goals for the team to ensure that targets for external stakeholders are met along with internal ones
- Build an efficient and robust team with the right skills and attitude – oversee and implement appropriate resources to ensure that the operations run well
- Identify and on board right vendors/partners to provide expertise in critical areas
Stakeholders management:
- Manage and balance internal and external stakeholders well and ensure the SSC Nasscom continues to be respected in the Govt and Industry
- Work closely with Ministry of skill development, NCVET and NSDC to further the ‘Skill India’ vision and ensure that the right skills are being imparted to job aspirants in the IT / ITeS Sector
- Work with the Ministry of IT and Electronics on the FutureSkills Prime Scheme to ensure that the program objectives and targets are met
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong leadership skills to manage distributed teams and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration
- Deep understanding of training & skilling ecosystem – especially regarding virtual platforms and future of skilling (individualized learning pace, skilling inn emerging technologies etc)
- Building / managing B2B & B2C learners’ platform – understanding of learner centric methodologies in an outcome-based format with specific focus on emerging technologies platforms
- Experience of public sector programs in vocational education, industry collaboration or related fields
- Hands-on experience of supporting State and Central governments in their skilling agenda and driving national levels schemes and initiatives.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, analytical & problem solving skills, high on learning ability
- Strong ability to collaborate, building relationships and work with multiple stakeholders in the public and private sector
Experience
- 20+ years of experience with at least 10 years of leadership experience in Learning & Development function or Skilling sector
- Postgraduate from a Tier I academic institution
- High level of office information technology skills; ability and willingness to travel extensively
- Strong work ethics & values
