Job Description

The PYP Grade 5 Homeroom Teacher will be responsible for delivering the IB PYP curriculum to Grade 5 students, fostering their academic, social, and emotional growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in elementary education, a commitment to the PYP philosophy, and the ability to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that align with the IB PYP curriculum and educational standards.
• Develop and implement inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and collaboration.
• Assess and evaluate students’ progress through formative and summative assessments, providing regular feedback to support their development.
• Maintain accurate records of students’ academic and developmental progress.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding students’ progress and any concerns.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement interdisciplinary units of inquiry.
• Participate in school-wide activities, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
• Support students in developing their learner profiles and taking action as responsible global citizens.
• Ensure a safe and orderly classroom environment, adhering to all school policies and procedures.
