The Centre for Thinking, Language and Communication (CTLC), housed at Plaksha University, endeavors to instill an appreciation for critical inquiry and a flair for communication skills in a technology institute and aims, thereby, to make fresh advances in the broader academic and professional technology communities. The CTLC offers opportunities and services that enhance the power of thinking, language, and communication in the students, staff, and faculty of Plaksha University to foster a communication style that equips them to broaden their vision of the world.

CTLC curates and delivers courses to Undergraduate students and PhD scholars at Plaksha University. The vertical within CTLC that focuses on this is called stemX. The courses cover domains spanning communication, philosophy, and humanities. CTLC’s innovative pedagogy involves a combination of lectures, experiential activities, and personalised tutorials to support student learning. As the stemX Lead, you will be responsible for leading the development of all educational programs and will report directly to the Centre’s Director. This role is an integral part of our mission to empower technologists with the tools they need to succeed in their personal and professional lives. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our pedagogy and course content to ensure maximum impact.

Your main responsibilities will include research for course content and pedagogy, instructional design tailored to course content, course logistics, facilitating workshops and tutorial sessions, and managing assessments and evaluations. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation, including our research team, students, subject matter experts, and tutors to ensure that all content and materials are aligned with best practices and meet the needs of learners at all levels. To succeed in this role, you should have a curiosity for science and technology, a passion for education, excellent project management skills, and experience as an educator.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities:

• Designing strategic and relevant courses in communication and humanities for BTech students.

• Curriculum development: from research for teaching material to crafting lesson plans to presentations.

• Documentation and management of courses across all stages from curriculum development to classroom sessions to assignments and assessments

• Coordinating and managing a pool of tutors.

• Teaching and tutoring groups of students both in class and small groups.

• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including faculty, industry experts, and students

• Fulfilling all the LMS responsibilities and requirements of the university

Desired Skills and Experience:

• A post-graduate degree in humanities, preferably in philosophy, communication, literature, or any other related field.

• 2-3 years of experience with pedagogy and curriculum development

• Ability to carry out academic research on any course-related theme

• Experience as an educator with adult students either at the undergraduate or postgraduate level

• Experience and skill in conducting personalized and group tutorials

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with other departments, partners, and stakeholders

• Any media and tech-related skills and experience is a bonus
