Job Description:
To contribute to the development of a values-based life skills curriculum, leveraging the best practices in social-emotional learning. This role involves integrating current research on effective social-emotional learning strategies, co-creating content, and designing engaging lesson plans that align with a values-driven approach. The candidate should have a background in education, a solid understanding of social-emotional learning principles, and a passion for fostering the holistic development of individuals through a values-based life skills curriculum.
Ideation and Conceptualization:
- Work together to come up with creative ideas for a life skills program with guidance.
- Create a structured plan in consultation with the team, following social-emotional learning principles.
Research and Content Development:
- Research current effective methods in social-emotional learning/values-based curriculum.
- Develop well-researched, evidence-based content for essential life skills with input and guidance.
Curriculum Writing:
- Plan lessons, activities, and assessments with the team to support social-emotional growth.
- Ensure content is suitable for different ages and cultures, and accessible to diverse learners.
Quality Assurance:
- Review and improve curriculum content with the team for accuracy, relevance, and alignment with learning goals.
Adaptability:
- Make adjustments to content based on feedback and requirements with guidance.
Project Management:
- Collaboratively handle timelines, deadlines, and deliverables with support to complete the life skills program on time.
Qualifications:
- Background in teaching, education or curriculum development, or recent completion of teaching and education courses.
- Knowledge of educational best practices, social-emotional learning theories, and life skills development.
- Strong research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with guidance.
- Familiarity with different age groups and educational settings.
