Position Title: Drama & Theatre School Teacher for IGCSE & ICSE (Grade 6th to 10th)

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Drama & Theatre School Teacher to join our faculty for grades 6th to 10th, focusing on the IGCSE & ICSE curriculum. As a Drama & Theatre School Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping students’ understanding and appreciation of drama, theatre arts, and performance.

Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Development: Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with the IGCSE & ICSE standards for Drama & Theatre Arts.
2. Classroom Instruction: Conduct dynamic and interactive lessons to teach students various aspects of drama, including acting techniques, stagecraft, script analysis, and theatrical history.
3. Practical Workshops: Organize and facilitate practical workshops to enhance students’ performance skills, such as improvisation, character development, and ensemble work.
4. Productions and Performances: Oversee and direct theatrical productions and performances, providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents and apply their learning in a real-world context.
5. Individualized Instruction: Provide personalized feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their performance abilities and achieve their full potential.
6. Assessment and Evaluation: Design and administer assessments to evaluate students’ progress and understanding of drama and theatre concepts, ensuring alignment with curriculum objectives.
7. Collaboration: Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate drama and theatre education across different subjects and disciplines, fostering interdisciplinary connections and holistic learning experiences.
8. Extracurricular Activities: Encourage and support students’ participation in extracurricular drama and theatre activities, such as drama clubs, theatre productions, and competitions.
9. Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest trends, techniques, and developments in drama and theatre education through professional development opportunities, workshops, and conferences.
10. Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding students’ progress, upcoming events, and other relevant information.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Drama, Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, Education, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Teaching certification or license in Drama or Performing Arts Education.
• Proven experience teaching Drama & Theatre Arts at the middle and high school levels, preferably in an international curriculum setting.
• Strong knowledge of the IGCSE & ICSE curriculum requirements for Drama & Theatre Arts.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Passion for drama, theatre, and working with young people.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to explore and express themselves creatively through drama and theatre.
