Sri Aurobindo
POSITION: Content developer – Special Educator (Telugu)
ABOUT PROJECT INCLUSION Traditionally, the training sessions for project inclusion were conducted on-ground, however, with increased acceptability of teachers for online training and workshop sessions, especially due to Covid- 19 evolved norms, Project Inclusion provides training to the teachers through digital platforms. Therefore at Sri Aurobindo society we have developed a full package of 17 modules pertaining to the disabilities under the umbrella of NDD (NeuroDevelopmental Disorders). These particularly were picked up because these are the hidden disabilities and children in the mainstream who have these challenging conditions struggle a lot. Therefore, it is important to train the teachers as they can be the bridge between these students and the parents and thereby the society at large. The whole programme is in the Audio Visual format of 378 minutes and is put up on the LMS for the training. This has small videos and after which the teacher will be assessed with a help of a questionnaire as well.
Sri Aurobindo society believes that the first step to providing equal and quality education to these lost souls is to enable their teachers to identify their special needs. Only then their presence can be acknowledged by the education system. Their due rights provided to them, and empathy-based mechanisms created to support their education journey.
