Role Description The Economics Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lessons in Economics, including Business Economics, to students following the Cambridge International curriculum (IGCSE and A Levels). Daily tasks include lesson planning, teaching, facilitating discussions, monitoring student progress, and incorporating experiential and inquiry-based teaching methods. The role also involves mentoring students, contributing to co-curricular activities, and supporting the school’s focus on learning through relationship and community engagement. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Kodaikanal and requires active participation in the residential school community’s daily life. Qualifications – Strong knowledge in Economics and Business Economics, including the ability to teach these subjects at IGCSE and A Level standards. – Experience or expertise in Lesson Planning and Teaching methodologies that encourage inquiry-based and experiential learning. – Background or qualification in Education that supports innovative, student-centered learning approaches. – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster meaningful relationships with students and colleagues in a diverse, residential community. – Ability to adapt lessons to suit the needs of multi-age and multicultural learners. – A commitment to promoting sustainable and responsible living in line with the ethos of Sholai School. – Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Education, or a related field (required). – Prior experience teaching Economics in a secondary or higher secondary setting (preferred).
