Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Assistant Professor – Fashion Design – Industry Expert role located in Karnal. The Assistant Professor in Fashion Design with Industry Expertise will be responsible for conducting lectures, organizing student projects, supervising research activities, and participating in curriculum development. The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate with industry partners and mentor students to foster their creativity and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

• Educational Excellence: Deliver engaging and insightful lectures that spark creativity and innovation among students.
• Curriculum Development: Craft a robust and industry-relevant curriculum that ensures students are well-versed with current design trends and tools.
• Student Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to students, ensuring their academic and professional growth.
• Practical Application: Facilitate practical sessions and workshops that enhance students’ hands-on experience with design tools and projects.
• Help in establishing Industry Connects for workshops, internships, projects & placements
• You will be required to collaborate with the admission team to contribute to student enrolment, brand building, and student placements through information and interactions.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree or higher in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field
• Minimum of 1 year of industry experience in the Fashion Design industry
• Demonstrated expertise in fashion design techniques, pattern making, and garment construction
• Ability to teach a range of Fashion Design courses including fashion illustration, history of fashion, textiles, and garment construction
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
• Experience in creating and delivering academic programmes and teaching materials
• Proficiency in design software is a plus
• Experience with sustainable and ethical fashion practices is a plus
• Relevant Industry Connects is a plus
