Job Profile: Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) – Social Science
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Academic Instruction:
- Deliver engaging and comprehensive Social Science lessons to students in middle and secondary grades.
- Implement effective teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning styles.
2. Curriculum Planning:
- Develop and organise lesson plans in adherence to the school curriculum, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Integrate technology and interactive resources for an enriched learning experience.
3. Student Assessment:
- Design and conduct fair assessments to evaluate students’ understanding and progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement.
4. Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
- Implement and uphold school policies consistently.
5. Co-curricular Involvement:
- Participate in and contribute to school events, extracurricular activities, and social science-related projects.
- Encourage student participation in relevant competitions and initiatives.
6. Parent-Teacher Collaboration:
- Establish effective communication channels with parents through regular meetings and progress reports.
- Address parental concerns and queries in a professional and timely manner.
7. Academic Support:
- Provide additional academic support to students through tutorials and remedial classes.
- Identify and address individual learning needs for optimal student development.
8. Professional Development:
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about educational trends and methodologies.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to enhance teaching skills.
9. Boarding School Responsibilities:
- If applicable, contribute to the boarding school community by participating in residential duties, mentorship programs, and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with housemasters and housemistresses to ensure the overall well-being of boarding students.
