The Watercraft Inspector position serves to inspect, inform and educate the public to the threats of ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species to Minnesota’s waters. Inspectors will complete training of MN DNR protocols, and will be authorized to enforce MN State Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) laws while performing thorough inspections on all incoming or outgoing watercraft at Riley, Red Rock and Mitchell Lakes in Eden Prairie, MN. Inspectors will work at public water access sites conducting a brief survey while inspecting watercraft for invasive species. Other duties include assisting with postings and educational materials at access sites, invasive species removal, and other natural resource projects.
Full-Time and Part-Time Positions: May through October.

Verbal communication and customer relations experience. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a professional setting. Willingness to work odd hours and in adverse weather. Willing to work weekends and holidays Requires occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs and walking or standing to a significant degree.
