Job Description:
As a Special Education Substitute Teacher, your role is pivotal in maintaining educational continuity and providing vital support to students with special needs. Your responsibilities will encompass:
– Delivering instruction and support to students with IEPs.
– Adhering to lesson plans and guidelines provided by the regular classroom teacher.
– Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of each student.
– Effectively managing classroom behavior and cultivating a positive learning environment.
– Establishing clear communication with students, parents, and fellow staff members.
– Collaborating with other educators and specialists to address the specific needs of students.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should ideally possess:
– A Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field, SPED certification is a requirement.
– Teaching certification (preferred).
– Experience working with students with special needs is an asset.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Patience, flexibility, and a deep commitment to student success.
