Job Brief: We are seeking an experienced and passionate General Studies and Current Affairs Teacher to join our institution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging, comprehensive lessons on general studies and current affairs to students. The teacher will facilitate a deep understanding of various subjects including history, geography, politics, economics, and current events, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills among learners.

Responsibilities: 

1. Develop and implement a curriculum that covers a wide range of general studies and current affairs topics.
2. Create lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessments that align with the curriculum objectives and educational standards.
3. Deliver engaging and informative lessons that promote critical thinking, analysis, and application of knowledge in general studies and current affairs.
4. Stay updated with the latest developments in various fields, including global events, politics, economics, science, and technology, to incorporate relevant and current information into teaching materials.
5. Encourage debates, discussions, and interactive learning activities that encourage students to express their opinions and viewpoints on current events.
6. Assess and evaluate students’ progress through various methods, including exams, projects, presentations, and discussions, and provide constructive feedback to aid their development.

Skills Required: 

– A bachelor’s degree in Education, General Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
– Proven experience in teaching general studies and current affairs, preferably in a school or educational institution.
– Strong knowledge and understanding of a wide range of subjects including history, geography, politics, economics, and current events.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and motivate students effectively.
– Ability to adapt teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
– Up-to-date with current events and the ability to connect real-world examples to classroom learning.
