ISB is looking for candidates with strong analytical and quantitative capabilities and excellent communication skills. We seek applications from motivated individuals with a strong academic background to work as Research Associates at ISB. Research Associates (RA) generally go on to pursue Ph.D. in internationally renowned business schools after working at ISB for 2-3 years.

There is 1 Research Associate position available in the Accounting Area with Professor N.V. Ramanan.

The candidate will assist the faculty in their ongoing research work, which includes browsing research articles, compiling and manipulating the data, running the statistical models, and professionally presenting the results.

The position is best suited for a candidate with an interest in pursuing a Ph.D. from a top research school within the next few years.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• B Tech from a top-tier engineering college (preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or Machine Learning) or MBA/ PGDBM from premier institutions such as IIMs (preferably in Data Analytics or Information Systems)
• The candidate must have a consistently high CGPA and evidence of academic excellence.
• The candidate must have advanced programming skills in Python and STATA. Familiarity with SAS, R, and AWS is a plus.
• A background in Data Analytics and Textual Analysis is highly desired.

In addition, the following skills assume importance:

• Exposure to economic problems and econometric techniques is desirable.
• Experience with noisy and/or unstructured textual data is an advantage. This includes knowledge of various text mining algorithms and their use cases as well as text pre-processing and normalization techniques.
• Data compilation: Scraping data from websites or documents and compilation into usable formats for analysis. Knowledge of writing API queries/Web-Scraping algorithms, Machine Learning/AI, or textual analysis is an added advantage.
• Database management: Linking different datasets, ensuring data quality, and processing raw data into processed datasets for modeling and estimation.
• Quantitative modeling: Econometric analysis for exploratory data analysis and causal estimation, including visualization and reporting.
