Job Title: PGT Biology (Post Graduate Teacher)
Responsibilities:
1. Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive Biology curriculum that aligns with the prescribed syllabus or curriculum standards.
2. Lesson Planning: Prepare detailed lesson plans that incorporate various teaching strategies, experiments, and activities to engage students and enhance their understanding of Biology concepts.
3. Classroom Instruction: Conduct regular classroom sessions, explaining complex Biology concepts, conducting laboratory experiments, and utilizing teaching aids such as multimedia presentations to make learning engaging and effective.
4. Assessment: Design and administer assessments, including quizzes, tests, assignments, and examinations, to evaluate students’ understanding and progress. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their performance.
5. Student Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
6. Practical Laboratory Work: Supervise and guide students in laboratory experiments, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and promoting hands-on learning.
7. Research and Projects: Encourage and support students in conducting research projects, science fairs, or other biology-related extracurricular activities.
8. Parent-Teacher Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians to provide updates on students’ progress, discuss any concerns, and collaborate on strategies for improvement.
9. Professional Development: Stay updated with the latest developments in Biology education, teaching methodologies, and assessment techniques. Attend workshops, training programs, and conferences to enhance teaching skills.
10. Extracurricular Involvement: Actively participate in and possibly lead extracurricular activities related to Biology, such as biology clubs, field trips, or science competitions.
Qualifications:
1. Educational Background: A Master’s degree in Biology or a related field is typically required. Some institutions may prefer candidates with a Ph.D. in Biology or Education.
2. Teaching Certification: Possess a valid teaching certification or license, depending on the educational jurisdiction.
3. Subject Matter Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Biology concepts and the ability to convey them effectively to students at the higher secondary level.
