- Utilising a range and balance of planning, teaching, assessment (recording and reporting) strategies.
- Planning children s learning outcomes in the context of a coherent nursery-wide curriculum.
- Monthly/weekly/daily learning outcome goals and implementing into daily classroom practise.
- Execute the general plan of monthly/weekly/daily goals and lead and supervise planned activities.
- Using a variety of resources representing multiple perspectives and addressing the individual needs of children with different levels and types of ability
- Producing accurate and effective observations to assess the children s progress and its effectiveness.
- Maintaining objective, accurate and up-to-date progress records for future planning.
- Producing termly evaluation reports for designated key children and termly parents reports.
- Each teacher is assigned a Key Person responsibility that aims at: ensuring every child s care is tailored to their individual needs; that the child become familiar with the Nursery setting and to offer a settled relationship for the child and build a relationship with their parents.
- Be accessible and available as a point of contact for parents or carers.
- Observing and updating the child s care record and tracking their development within the Nursery.
- Updating the child s personal development records.
- Updating the child s individual planning and sharing the information with parents and carers.
- Responding sensitively to child s feelings and behaviours and meeting emotional needs.
- Providing reassurance to new children to enable smooth transition into nursery
- Empowering children to feel responsible and involving them actively in their own learning.
- Supporting physical needs of child not limited to nappy changing, toileting and dressing, settling to sleep, giving milk, fostering positive behaviour.
Ideal candidate must have 2-3 years of similar work experience. The successful candidate will be expected to undergo a background check and provide references.
