Job Title: Lecturer/Assistant Professor – Finance
Qualification & Experience: M.Com /MBA in Finance with minimum 2-3 Years of teaching experience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Teaching: The primary responsibility of an MBA finance faculty member is to deliver high-quality instruction to students. This involves developing and delivering lectures, leading discussions, facilitating case studies, assigning and grading assignments, and providing feedback to students. The faculty member is expected to have a deep understanding of finance concepts and theories and effectively communicate them to students.
Curriculum development: MBA finance faculty members often contribute to the development and revision of the curriculum. They may review existing courses, recommend updates or new courses to reflect emerging trends and industry demands, and develop learning materials such as syllabi, course outlines, and reading lists. They also ensure that the curriculum meets accreditation standards and aligns with the institution’s goals.
Research and scholarship: Many MBA finance faculty members are expected to engage in research and scholarship activities. This includes conducting research on finance topics, publishing scholarly articles in reputable journals, presenting findings at conferences, and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field. Research contributes to the advancement of knowledge and enhances the faculty member’s expertise.
Advising and mentoring: MBA finance faculty members often serve as academic advisors to students. They provide guidance on course selection, career paths, internships, and other academic and professional opportunities. Additionally, they may mentor students by offering support, sharing industry insights, and assisting with networking opportunities.
Professional development: To stay current in the field of finance and enhance their teaching skills, MBA finance faculty members participate in professional development activities. This may involve attending workshops, conferences, and seminars, pursuing advanced degrees or certifications, and engaging in continuous learning.
Service and institutional engagement: Faculty members are usually expected to contribute to the overall functioning of the institution. This includes participating in departmental and institutional committees, attending faculty meetings, and collaborating with colleagues on initiatives such as program development, accreditation, and student recruitment. They may also engage with the industry through consulting projects, partnerships, and community outreach.
Continuous improvement and assessment: Faculty members are responsible for assessing student learning outcomes and program effectiveness. They design assessments, evaluate student performance, analyze data, and use the findings to improve teaching methods and course content. They may also participate in accreditation processes and assist with program reviews and evaluations.
