Job Description

The Office of Faculty Development (OFD) will be responsible for developing a holistic faculty development program at Amrita Vishwa Vidyaeetham. With the aim to achieve academic excellence, the incumbent will be responsible for establishing a program for faculty development by reviewing current best practices both nationally and internationally, conducting gap analysis and benchmarking against leading world universities.

To establish the day-to-day operational framework of the OFD in the context of the agreed roadmap, including requirements gathering, identification of overall OFD requirements and the development of associated policies and procedures.

Once the framework is established, the role will focus on the coordination of all the activities pertaining to faculty development from initial planning stage to scheduling and execution.

The incumbent will also be responsible for facilitating the development of the OFD software by working in conjunction with our IT team and its operation.

Required Skill Set:
Self-driven, analytical and team oriented individual with a passion for excellence with strong focus on achieving quality and timely results.

Proven ability to develop and execute a time-bound action plan for the implementation of new initiatives/processes.

Ability to manage faculty development program activities from end to end.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (verbal and written) in managing deliverables, achieving key milestones, and delivering the program within agreed timeframes.

Location/Conditions:
Incumbent to be based in main University Campus at Coimbatore, with activities extending to all six campuses. Initial orientation will require working in Amritapuri campus for a minimum of two months.
