Job Description: Assistant Professor of Finance

As an Assistant Professor of Finance, your role will primarily involve teaching, research, and academic support within the field of finance. You will be responsible for providing instruction and guidance to undergraduate and/or graduate students pursuing degrees in finance or related disciplines. Here is a breakdown of the key responsibilities and qualifications for this position:

Responsibilities:

Teaching: Delivering lectures, conducting seminars, and leading discussions on various topics related to finance, such as financial management, investments, corporate finance, risk management, and financial analysis.

Curriculum Development: Developing and updating course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and assessments, to ensure they align with the latest industry trends and academic standards.

Research: Conducting independent research in finance-related areas, contributing to the existing body of knowledge, and publishing research findings in reputable academic journals or conferences.

Advising Students: Providing academic and career guidance to students, including advising them on course selection, research projects, internships, and future career opportunities in finance.

Institutional Service: Participating in departmental meetings, committees, and other activities aimed at enhancing the overall academic environment and contributing to the university’s mission.

Professional Development: Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field of finance through continuous learning, attending conferences, workshops, and engaging in professional networking.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. from Tier1/Tier2 Universities in India and other reputed National and International Universities.

Experience:

International Education or international experience is a must.

At least 4+ yrs. teaching in university/college and/or experience in research including guiding candidates at the doctoral level.

good academic record with quality Published/research work, and experience in guiding the project work /dissertation of PG / Research Students or supervising R&D projects in the industry.

Teaching Experience: Previous experience in teaching finance-related courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level is preferred. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts to students with varying levels of knowledge.

Research Excellence: A proven track record of research accomplishments or potential, as evidenced by publications in reputable academic journals or ongoing research projects. Ability to contribute to the research goals of the department and collaborate with colleagues on research initiatives.

Industry Experience: Practical experience or relevant work experience in the finance industry, such as financial analysis, investment management, corporate finance, or financial planning, is advantageous.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage students in the learning process.

Organizational Skills: Excellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail to effectively balance teaching, research, and administrative responsibilities.
