Job description

Objective : To serve as the leader across schools in developing and implementing policies, programs, curriculum activities, and budgets in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional development of each staff member.

Key Accountabilities/Activities:

Primary Responsibility:

Academic Operations

· Acting as academic head of all the school in respective cluster for the said curriculum.

· Working closely with the Director- Academic Operations on a daily basis to ensure the smooth overall operation of the schools.

· Coordinating with Director- Academic Operations for closure of Academic Masters as per department calendar and task list.

· Ensuring maintenance of appropriate reports as per scheduled timelines, with regular updation as required.

· Developing emergency response academic plans for schools as required by state and federal education agencies.

· Supporting and facilitating Cluster Principals on functions that help to improve the learning and social environment of the schools for the students and staff.

· Guiding / Monitoring the Academic team at VERTEX / Cluster for seamless execution of academics in schools.

· Planning and guiding academic team at VERTEX / Cluster in conducting School readiness visits / Handholding / QAG by encouraging a positive climate in the school.

· Facilitating the academic team to supporting teachers and coordinators on the content / curriculum / modules, their usage, applicability etc.

· Supporting school Principals to guide and support committee of staff and parents to improve the learning and social environment of the schools for the students.

· Guiding schools in yearly teacher evaluations and appraisals, assisting in providing guidance to staff and encouraging a positive climate in the school.

· Providing timely feedback to the coordinators / VPs in terms of scope of improvement.

· Scheduling periodic meeting with the Coordinators/ VPs/ Principal.

· Monitoring special days and events and VEMBARK activities at regular intervals and providing feedback for improvement post execution.

· Participate in various meets related to academics such as Academic Team meet, Principals’ Meet and conduct various modules related to academics.

· Planning and execution for academic events like Master trainer certification, Teacher Induction etc.

· Coordinating with the admin team for organizing academic events/programs etc

Human Resource Management

· Effectively guide and motivate teachers and coordinators to deliver their best as per the VIBGYOR curriculum philosophy.

· Effectively ensure that there is maximum adherence to HR Policies.

· Effectively work with Human Resources team to recruit efficient resources within the prescribed time frame.

· Effectively control attrition by facilitating a conducive work environment for the school staff.

· Ensure teaching and non-teaching staff are taken through induction program at regular intervals.

Administration Operations

· Coordinate and supervise the administration activities.

· Making the Academic Budget for the team.

· Co-ordinate with the various departments in VERTEX / Cluster for the smooth functioning of school operations.

· Offer solutions and suggestions regarding compliance to various authorities (in context to academics).

· Planning of new projects in discussion with the Director- Academic Operations / Management.

· Participating in review meetings to discuss resolutions for concerns and queries affecting schools functioning.

· Any other assignments as directed by the Director- Academic Operations / Management.

· Maintaining effective communication with school leaders.

Relations

Internal:

· Reporting to Director- Academic Operations for all functional as well as administration related matters.

· Interfacing with Principals, Vice Principals and Co-ordinators for academic related matters.

· Interfacing with Admin, Finance, HR and Technology for any people or any operational issues.

Qualification:

· (B.Ed – Education) AND (PG – Any PG Course – Any Specialization, M.Ed – Education)

Experience:

· 10+ years of work experience in academics field in a reputed school / organization with preferably a minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in any leadership role.

· Has exposure in CISCE / CBSE CAIE
