Name of Position: Director & Professor for School of Sustainability Studies (Code: E03)

B.E/B. Tech (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics) & M.E/M. Tech (Energy Technologies & Alternate/Solar Energy) in Sustainability Studies with Ph.D in relevant area.

Symbiosis Open Education Society (SOES)has established Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU) at Kiwale in 2017-18, which is Maharashtra’s first Skill Development University.

The innovative model of the University provides entry to all, enabling those from both the formal as well as informal systems to acquire education and skills. The model has incorporated the strength and best practices of the vocational and skill development system followed in various countries as well as the characteristics of the Indian ethos and culture. Partnerships with industry for joint curricula development, skill training, on the job training, joint applied research projects, etc. will be undertaken by the University. What you will do:

1. Design and drive the vision and strategy for the Schools.

2. Drive networking and liasoning with the industry, academia, faculty and University administration to achieve objectives.

3. Encourage and guide faculty and students towards improving research quality and performance.

4. Optimum workload allocation, periodical review and feedback for faculty performance.

5. Work closely with HR to drive people strategy effectively.

6. Exercise control on quality of teaching and learning process through continuous academic delivery evaluation.

7. Enable staff and monitor asset and physical facility management and maintenance including equipment, supplies, and space.

8. Take complete ownership for yearly academic planning, budgeting, expense management, admissions and placements.

9. Coordinate expenditure from Program funds considering annual budget allocation of for the Program.

10. Chair the activities of Program search committees in relation to evaluations of applicants.

11. Coordinate accreditation, program review, or assessment activities required for the Program.

12. Promote research activities & quality publications.

13. Maintain Program records, documentation and comply with governing norms (UGC/AICTE/NAAC, etc.).

14. Initiate curriculum changes and other activities to maintain a high quality academic Program. Enrichment of Curriculum as per recent industry needs.

15. Develop/Improve University catalog Program descriptions.

16. Drive student feedback mechanism to improve program content and administration.

17. Create and maintain a strong industry collaboration for program promotion, various seminars, conferences, international student relations, arranging guest lectures, industrial visits, workshops, trainings, internships and placements.

18. Work on and accomplish special assignments as delegated by Pro Chancellor, Vice Chancellor or President of the University.

Qualifications

Ph.D in relevant area is mandatory with first class (preferably distinction) at UG and PG Level.

Research – Professor

At least 10 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in Scopus/SCI Journals OR 6 research publications at the level of Associate Professor in Scopus/SCI Journals and 2 successful Ph.D guided as Supervisor/Co-Supervisor.

Academic Experience

Minimum 10 years of teaching experience out of which at least 3 years shall be at the post equivalent to that of Associate Professor.

Administrative Experience

Administrative experience at the level of HOD/Vice Principal etc. Shall be responsible to lead administrative activities and establishing industrial connect at the School.

Skill Sets

Demonstrated history of leadership and team management with a dynamic personality, excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Candidates with an experience in industry/consulting and research projects will be given preference.
