Roles and Responsibilities

• This job requires the individual to visualize and create the design by hand or using illustration software (Corel Draw, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.). A designer should be up to date with emerging fashion trends, as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colours and shapes. He/she should also have good communication skills, good sense of aesthetics, sound knowledge of sewing and pattern making
• Drafting and cutting the fabric.
• Carry out the process of sewing for dress materials and common household items of textiles.
• Carry out inspections and alterations to adjust corrections for fittings.
• Maintain work area, tools and machines AND Comply with industry, regulatory and organizational requirements
• conducting market research and trend analysis for the particular season and identifying a theme for the collection; then creating a mood board and colour board based on the theme,
• Develop an entire range according as per the theme board.
• Create a prototype design.
• Should adopt maximum practical and less theory teaching approach
• Should incorporate job oriented skills in training and should give the students hands on working exposure.
