Job Description:
The Physics Associate Professor will play a crucial role in achieving the college’s vision and mission by teaching and inspiring students in the field of physics. This individual will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality lectures, overseeing student projects and research, and engaging in scholarly activities to advance the field. Additionally, the Physics Associate Professor will be expected to participate in department and college-wide initiatives to promote excellence in teaching and learning, and to contribute to the development of the department and college as a whole.
Qualifications:
A PhD or equivalent degree in Physics or a related field.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level.
A strong research record and ongoing scholarly activity in the field of physics.
Experience supervising student research projects.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities
Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in physics and related subjects.
Conducting original research in the field of physics and publishing findings in academic journals.
Mentoring and advising students on their academic and research work.
Participating in departmental and university committees and initiatives.
Seeking and obtaining grant funding to support their research.
Engaging in professional development activities, such as attending conferences and workshops.
Collaborating with other researchers both within and outside of the university.
Participating in community outreach and public speaking events to promote the field of physics.
